Dangers of fox eye threads as Chloe Ferry is left with ‘holes’ in the side of her face

Chloe Ferry has issued a stark warning to all of her fans about the dangers of fox eye surgery after the cosmetic procedure left her suffering with holes in the side of her face that may never completely heal.

The controversial cosmetic procedure, dubbed the ‘fox eye lift’, involves inserting biodegradable threads under the skin to lift the eyebrows and create a more almond eye shape.

Often touted as a minimally invasive procedure, the trend has seen a growing rise in popularity thanks to platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, but many people aren’t aware of the risks involved or the potential for permanent scarring, which is something Geordie Shore star Chloe herself experienced.

While the procedure is arguably less risky than a traditional face lift, like all medical procedures it does come with some very real risks that anyone considering the procedure needs to be aware of.

Alongside scarring to the temple and brow bone, the procedure can also damage the eyelid tendons, lead to folding and puckering of the skin, and in some cases even a loss of sensation in the area.

Such complications can also be very difficult to reverse, with some aestheticians advising against the procedure completely and advising anyone looking for a quick youthful pick me up to try a professional brow shape and lamination instead to help define the eyes without needing to go under the knife.

26 year old Chloe first drew attention to the little known dangers of the procedure on Thursday, 4 August, as she urged people to reconsider their choice to undergo the procedure, as she has been left feeling extremely “self conscious about the outcome” even seven months on from undergoing the trendy tweakment.

The reality star opened up about her experience with the procedure in her Instagram stories on Thursday night, as she felt inspired to share her story after seeing former Big Brother star Ryan Ruckledge highlight a similar experience on This Morning back in June.

The Newcastle native was very nearly in tears as she recounted the extent of her ordeal, with the star soon revealing it had severely impacted on her confidence.

While Chloe admitted that some people might blame her for undergoing the procedure and say it was her own fault, in hindsight, the star admitted that she sincerely wished she could “turn back time” and undo the damage that had been caused.

Speaking on Instagram, Chloe said: “Hi guys I’ve been putting this off for a bit now but after seeing Ryan going on This Morning to speak about the fox eye trend I feel like I need to tell everyone about my experience and what has happened to myself.”

The shocking marks still remain seven months on from the emerging surgery

“I had the same procedure as Ryan done seven months ago and still to this day I’m left with terrible scars on my face which may never go away.

“I’m seeing this procedure becoming increasingly more and more popular. This may not happen to everyone but as I’m left with scars seven months later I just wanted to take to social media just to let everyone know what had happened to myself.”

Left with scars as a result of the procedure, Chloe then bravely shared a series of makeup free selfies that showed the extent of the injuries, including the visible scars beside her brow bone

“I now have a dint in the side of my face,” she lamented.

Delving deeper into the impact of the procedure, Chloe admitted that it had a negative effect on her mental health, and seriously knocked her confidence.

“I’ve know their [sic] is worse things going on in the world but thought I had to speak about it now with me being left with scars seven months on,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.

Chloe held back on discussing her bad experience as she feared the backlash she might get

“I don’t ever rate myself or anything but the only thing I ever thought was good about me was I had good skin and now it’s scarred, my job is to be filming all the time on tv, photoshoots etc and now I’m so self conscious about the outcome this has had on me.”

Continuing on, Chloe acknowledged that people might claim it was her fault, but she still wanted people to be aware of the risks all the same.

“I know I’m going to get so many people saying it’s my own fault and I shouldn’t have had it done – I know! I honestly wish I never did and If I could turn back time now, I would turn back in a heartbeat,” Chloe explained, her voice cracking as she spoke.

“But I didn’t expect when I was getting that treatment done that I would be left with permanent scars and a dint in the side of my face.”

She tearfully added: “I just want to make people aware that it hasn’t worked out for me. I’ve had absolute hell. I’ve been to hospital, I’ve been on tablets – just a lot.”
