Bellator 275: Gegard Mousasi vs. Austin Vanderford live results and highlights
In the second defense attempt of his second Bellator middleweight title reign, Gegard Mousasi looks to continue his run atop the 185-pound division as he takes on Austin Vanderford in the main event of Bellator 275.
Mousasi’s second reign began at Bellator 250 in October 2020, when he defeated Douglas Lima by unanimous decision. Mousasi’s most recent contest saw him successfully keep the title in a third-round TKO of John Salter at Bellator 264 in August.
Mousasi originally won the title by finishing Rafael Carvalho at Bellator 200 in May 2018 — which was just Mousasi’s second bout in Bellator since jumping from the UFC. He retained against Rory MacDonald at Bellator 206 but lost the title in upset fashion to Rafael Lovato Jr. at Bellator 223.
Vanderford comes into his first challenge for a major MMA world championship at 10-0, with half of his pro bouts coming in the Bellator cage.
Vanderford — the Dana White’s Contender Series alumnus known as “The Gentleman” and “Mr. [Paige] VanZant” — has been with Bellator since the start of 2019. His run has so far seen him top Cody Jones, Joseph Creer, Grachik Bozinyan, Vinicius de Jesus and Fabian Edwards.
